Wai ariki is situated on 2 acres of park land with panoramic mountain views. Animals are displayed in a clean, tranquil environment where people can touch and hand feed the animals. Wai ariki encourages a hands-on experience with the animals which will charm adults and children alike. Animals to see include Red/Wapiti deer, Highland cattle, Nubian & Angora goats, emus, donkeys, various breeds of sheep, Tibetan yak, alpacas & llamas, rabbits, ducks, chooks and more!

Entertaining farm Shows are available and can be booked for groups by prior arrangement. We also cater for School visits, providing an interesting and informative experience for your students.

The vibrant cafe offers a range of teas, great organic coffee and delicious food. Lunch can be enjoyed inside the cafe with its own unique ambience, or on a warm day, relax with a coffee on the wide decks and watch the children interact with the animals nearby.

The Gallery, also included in the facility, carries a range of funky fabrics, patterns, haberdashery, local art and handmade NZ gifts - a real treat for the crafty girls!

Wai ariki is within walking distance from the village via the Crawford Walkway. Wai ariki promises a special family experience! Come and enjoy!

How to find us:

Rippingale Road is a loop road off Argelins Road where the Golf Course Clubrooms are located. From the Thermal Reserve in the village, turn left down Jacks Pass Road, then next turn left into Argelins, then next turn right into Rippingale Road.

Hours:

10am - 5pm Tuesday to Saturday. Open 7 days during school holidays and long weekends
